Professional Baseball Coming to TC!!
The Blair Township planning commissioner gave unanimous approval for a 4,500 seat baseball stadium near Chum's Corners. In May, 2006, the Traverse City Beach Bums of the independent Frontier League will begin playing there. Construction of the stadium will begin in November at the intersection of U.S. 31 and Rennie School Road. It will feature 3,500 hard seats plus table seating, 18 luxury boxes and grass seating beyond the outfield fences, office space, concessions, indoor batting rooms and two clubhouses. They will eventually build a 30-unit hotel to house visiting teams and umpires. This facility will be build entirely with private funds.
